This viewpoint is not very well known because 90% of the organized tours only visit until they reach the Cruz del Condor.

That is why it is not yet known.

This viewpoint is the best viewpoint to appreciate the Colca Canyon and is only a 20-minute walk from Cabanaconde.

If you compare this viewpoint with the  condor cross, the Mirador of Achachihua is much better since you can see the depth of the canyon and on the other side of the canyon you can see the Huaruro waterfall, the oasis of San Galle and the towns that They are found suspended on the walls of the Canyon.

To go to the viewpoint of Achachihua, from our hotel walk 2 blocks to Bolivar street

until arriving at the hotel valle del fuego. Then turn right onto Bolivar street and walk until there is not a single house.

Continue until you reach a small hill where there is a sign indicating Mirador de Achachihua. Go around that small hill ON THE LEFT Follow the road until you reach a soccer field, pass behind the arch of the north stand, which is the closest arch to you, follow the road and after about 100 meters you will arrive at the Achachihua Viewpoint. Here you will find a small wooden hut with a thatched roof.

If you want to hike down the canyon towards Llahuar, take the path to the left next to the thatched roof hut.

The duration, round trip with stops is one hour.

If you want to walk more and enjoy nature, follow the path bordering the canyon to where you want to walk and then return to Cabanaconde.
