Cabanaconde is a village from where the different treks begin to descend the Colca Canyon.

Cabanaconde is considered the Ollantaytambo of the Colca valley and canyon.

For now there is no law or rule that prohibits trekking on your own in the Colca Canyon.

That is why there are many tourists who walk inside the canyon on their own.
