Let’s try to explain how things work here.
Misinformation about the Colca Trek
Only in some hotel in Cabanaconde do they misinform
tourists and offer free information to walk in the Colca Canyon.
If someone tells you that there are fewer tourists
along the Llahuar route, it is a lie.
Llahuar is a beautiful place like all the places in
the Colca Canyon
The only big difference is that there are hot springs
here.
Currently the road reaches the hostel called Lahuar
and there is also a road that goes there, which means that there are more and
more tourists.
If you want to go to Llahuar, go, it is a very nice
place but don’t expect to find fewer tourists than in other places.
But after you have loved this hostel with its
explanations, they will also tell you that if the trek seems very difficult to
you, they can kindly help you get a 4×4.
Sure, it sounds very wonderful but what you don’t know
is that 90% of tourists return in 4×4 and this is very good but what you don’t
know is that this hostel takes most of the money you pay. This hostel charges a
high commission to local people.
The official trails for the Colca Canyon and
Google Maps
Some hotels are changing the roads to Google Maps so
that their businesses are favored.
Some of these people who do this are not local people,
they are not people from Cabanaconde, therefore they are not interested in the
safety of the tourist.
The official route for the treks is
One block in front of the church (Calle de los Polacos)
and Bolivar Street
Right on the corner of the Valle del Fuego hostel.
If you want to go to the oasis of San Galle,
continue straight along Calle de los Polacos.
If you want to go to Llahuar, continue straight along
Bolivar Street.
If our explanation was useful to you, please check if
our information allows you to easily reach the beginning of the treks, please
update the paths with the truth on Google Maps.
Thank you very much and have a good trek
